Test Report for 4G LTE Modem HUAWEI E398

LTE mobile internet service appeared in the Plus in November 2011. The operator praises its offer as "the fastest mobile Internet in the world". Check it out in a test that we conducted in Warsaw in several locations.
Before we get into the performance tests, there are a few words about the technology LTE. LTE or Long Term Evolution is the next step in the development of cellular networks, called fourth-generation network. It gives a theoretical speed of up to 100-300 Mbit/s while maintaining very low latency. Thus it is well suited for services that require fast transfer and rapid response networks, such as voice and video, games via the Internet and Video on Demand. LTE networks operate on different frequency bands from 800 MHz to 2600 MHz. Network Plus runs on the 1800 MHz band.
In a new set of Huawei E398 4G LTE USB modem get supplied with the USIM card LTE.  Huawei E398 is equipped with a microSD slot and can be used as a portable USB flash drive. In addition to the card slot, E398 has two connectors for MIMO external antenna. Since we were at the disposal of the antenna from another, previously tested HUAWEI E392 4G LTE modem, it is also suitable for HUAWEI E398 4G modem to see how this will affect the transmission parameters. The test antenna pigtail gave about 10-20 percent increase download speeds and significant, even double increase the upload speed.
HUAWEI E398 Modem can be connected with two external antennas
Software installation went without problems. When you click on the drive icon began the iPlus Manager updated to version 2.4. In some common version of HUAWEI E398, it’s green Mobile Partner. After a while, the drivers are installed and the whole thing was ready to go.
Tests moved around to various good and services that require high-speed transfers, we used the Speedtest.net.

IPlus LTE Test on PC

First, Downloading files from the server 4glterouter.de located in Germany and servers located in the center Waszawie ATM. We have obtained the average transfers around 25 Mbit/s downstream and 2.3 Mbit/s when sending. Noteworthy is a very small oscillating ping usually around 22-24ms value.

Average download
Average upload
Ping
25.2 Mbit / s
2.3 Mbit / s
24ms

Second, playing Games on the biggest game center The service is one of several new services running in the cloud, which allow you to play online games installed on remote servers. There are such hits as Crysis2, FIFA, Battlefield 2, The Witcher 2 and many others. Interestingly, even in the most demanding games can be played on a relatively weak computer without a dedicated graphics card. What is more important, is the good speed, which is able to transmit commands from the mouse and keyboard so fast that the player has not felt the delay in the operation of the game. Tests of Crysisem2 were successful - I played this game on your own computer and admit that it was quick to play! Form reacted quickly and the resolution was sufficient to see small details.

 3rd, Speedtest

  IPlus LTE Test - Speedtest

 Speedtest typically showed a speed of up to 35 Mbit/s, though there were in excess of the results of up to 40 Mbit/s or less than 25 Mbit/s. Also we managed to get impressive upload moments of over 25 Mbit/s.

 4th, Video Skype video calls via Skype went smoothly. The condition is good for both sides of the link line.

5th  Youtube - full HD No any problem happened to launch on 2 monitors 3 videos Youtube in HD 1080p.

 6th iPlus Neostrada LTE vs. 20 Mbit / s Fastest Neostrada now offer ADSL speed is 20 Mbit/s; the operator introduces VDSL solutions, but in our area it’s not available. How do you compare the fixed Neostrada and LTE? Virtually all the indicators are in favor Plus. The transfer rate is greater but pings are smaller. Neostrada, despite the theoretical speed of 20 Mbit/s, sync grabs at 15 Mbit/s in practice, gives about 12 Mbit/s transfer sometimes.

  Summary

Plus LTE is the fastest network tested by us offering mobile Internet. Sometimes in excess of the transfer of 40 Mbit/s, we can instantly download the files. Also, the upload speed is very good.  If you do not need contracts with iPus, there are unlocked HUAWEI E398 4G Modems selling on www.4gltemall.com. If you are not sure whether LTE will operate in your location, you need to have a look at the map: 4gmap.info or contact us via email.  The test results were very good, and therefore can offer LTE for all users who are looking for high-speed Internet.

HUAWEI E392u-12---- The Most Popular Surfstick of HUAWEI E392 4G USB Modem

As the flagship of 4G LTE USB Modem, HUAWEI E392 4G LTE Multimode USB Modem like a big tree, derives many branch models, such as HUAWEI E392u-12, HUAWEI E392u-21, HUAWEI E392u-22, HUAWEI E392u-92, HUAWEI E392u-6, HUAWEI E392u-9, HUAWEI E392u-511 etc… They are for different operators in different areas, so they incorporates difference modules to support various 4G LTE bands. HUAWEI E392 4G LTE Multi-mode Data Card

Based on good quality and reliable performance, HUAWEI E392 4G LTE Modem is the first option for many network providers. Which one is the most popular model?

 Before we give the conclusion, let us talk about the 4G network deployment status. From the beginning of 2012, operators all over the world are planning and starting deploying the 4g networks. At this trend, the providers in Asia seems running faster than European operators. Perhaps it’s due to the economic depression in European area.

 Per the report of 4G network status, LTE technology is most commonly adopted to use in data transmission. And the LTE Band 1800Mhz is most commonly deployed spectrum, 38% current LTE networks choose 1800Mhz (Band 3). It’s the refarming of GSM 1800Mhz. As we know, GSM is the most common 2G network. And per our information, Band 7(2600Mhz) is also the common FDD network in Europe and APEC areas. Then we look back to HUAWEI E392. The brand model works on band 3 and band 7 has two models HUAWEI 392u-12 and E392u-6.

  HUAWEI E392 4G LTE Multi-mode Data Card

HUAWEI E392U-12 4G Modem support LTE FDD 800/1800/2600 Mhz while HUAWEI E392U-6 4G Surfstick supports LTE FDD 900/1800/2100/2600Mhz. Band 1(2100MHz) is only available at North Amerian and Band 8 ( 900 Mhz) only deployed in few countries. But 800Mhz is a common LTE spectrum in Europe and Asia. [caption id="attachment_17" align="alignnone" width="500" caption="4G 3G 2G Frequency bands 4GLTEMALL"]4G 3G 2G Frequency bands 4GLTEMALL[/caption] In this case, we could conclusion that HUAWEI E392u-12 is the most commonly used 4G LTE Surfstick. If you are a professional journalist or other professional who usually travel between countries and need fast data transmission, it’s necessary to take HUAWEI E392u-12 around. Frankly speaking, comparing with 3G USB modem, HUAWEI E392 seems a little large, but compare with digital camera and luggage carrier, it’s slim enough. 4GLTEmall.com could offer unlocked one. If you want it, welcome to buy it on 4gltemall.com

Test Report on HUAWEI E392 Multimode 4G LTE USB modem

Previously, LTE sticks always available with branding and software of the large mobile operators Vodafone, O2 and Telekom. These sticks are printed externally with a logo of the network operator and the preinstalled software can often allow only certain SIM cards into the slot. Nowadays, Huawei E392 4G LTE Surf stick on the market can easily be used with any carrier and not tailored to a particular provider. HUAWEI E392 4G LTE Multi-mode Data Card

  The First Impression

 The scope of delivery is only a small strap and some instructions. The wrist strap is also attached to the stick and on the cover for the USB port, thus preventing that the cover is lost. Overall looking, the Huawei E392 4G LTE Modem has quite large and bulky for a surf stick, which is certainly the fact that the USB port is not rotatable. [caption id="attachment_250" align="alignnone" width="500"]HUAWEI E392 4G LTE Multi-mode Data Card

HUAWEI E392 4G LTE Multi-mode Data Card[/caption] The Huawei E392 can be run on both Windows and Mac OS X. After you have inserted the SIM card and the flash drive connected to the computer, the connection software to install. Installation takes usually only a few minutes, then the LTE stick can be used immediately. If the PIN protection is enabled SIM card, you will be prompted to enter the PIN. Other settings do not normally need to be made, the connection software detects the inserted SIM card and automatically configures the matching connection parameters. If there are two different APNs with a provider, you can select them before joining in a dropdown menu. By clicking on the "Connect" the Internet connection is established - the Huawei E392 will select the fastest available network.   [caption id="attachment_251" align="alignnone" width="500"]HUAWEI E392 4G LTE Multi-mode Data Card

HUAWEI E392 4G LTE Multi-mode Data Card[/caption] Under the LTE network, HUAWEI E392 could reach speeds of up to 100 Mbit/s download  and the upload speed up to 50 MBit/s. Huawei E392 is not only suitable for all German LTE networks, but also in other countries, such as in Scandinavia and in Australia. When the stick is used in the UMTS network, based DC-HSPA + the speed could reach up to 43.2 Mbit/s- provided at the current location, this speed is also supported. In my test, I was able to achieve in the download about 52 Mbit/s in the Vodafone LTE network in the UMTS network of Telekom there were at least another 30 Mbit/s The high data rates are not only marketing, but with matching fare quite well in practice achievable.   [caption id="attachment_252" align="alignnone" width="500"]HUAWEI E392 4G LTE Multi-mode Data Card

HUAWEI E392 4G LTE Multi-mode Data Card[/caption]   The reception of the Huawei E392 is not quite as good as that of the Vodafone K5005 (or Vodafone K5006 ) or by Telekom Speed Stick LTE Telekom. while the telecom Speed Stick LTE 4G connection is possible, it shows the Huawei E392 3G networks only as available. In my experience, this is also due to the Huawei E392 can’t be rotated into a vertical position where the reception is usually a bit better. If you live in an under-served area, it is advisable to use an external antenna. For it provides the LTE stick two connections for two separate external antennas or MIMO antenna with two antenna connectors - depending on use case.   [caption id="attachment_253" align="alignnone" width="500"]HUAWEI E392 4G LTE Multi-mode Data Card HUAWEI E392 4G LTE Multi-mode Data Card[/caption]

Conclusion:

Finally, we can see that the Huawei E392 definitely a good LTE stick. Especially for global travelers, HUAWEI E392 could support all major bands and frequencies; it’s a good companion to go all over the world. The preinstalled software can convince with easy operation and quick setup. Unlocked HUAWEI E392 4G LTE modem is a good gadget a enjoy 4G network. Or alternatively, it can keep fast connection under 3g network. Equipped with an alternative connection software, it is also possible to use the Vodafone K5005 with all network operators.

HUAWEI B683 3G Wireless Router Test and Review

Mobile Internet, which was synonymous with luxury - until recently it is now a very common and convenient way to access the global network and to surf internet. Continuously falling prices of the service make more and more people choose to use mobile or wireless network. Following the wake of growing demand for mobile internet devices, manufacturers are trying to create mobile broadband to maximize the easier and more enjoyable communication for us.

One of these manufacturers is Chinese company Huawei, which launched the HUAWEI B683 3G WiFi router. It could connects to 3G mobile network via LAN or SIM card based on HSPA + standard.
General Review
Huawei B683 3G Wirelss Router stands out from the "crowd" of other routers, its unusual, modern design. The outside plastic is used in glossy casing (so-called "piano"), which unfortunately can be seen virtually every fingerprint. If clean it up, it looks very shining.
  At the top of the unit is the Dial-up (used to connect to the Internet) button, the side is the ports for connections in the router (external antenna, connect the telephone line, power supply, USB port, four-port LAN 10/100 Ethernet (RJ45)). At the front of the router there are two buttons - on / off switch and a button Wi-Fi/WPS (for creating wireless Wi-Fi networks).   Behind the rear panel is reset button (used to restore the factory settings) and pendants, based on which we can put HUAWEI B683 stand like a wall. In this back, you will also find housing flap, concealed SIM slot grille.
The discrete icons on HUAWEI B683 3G WiFi Router informs us connection status, the icons are located around the dial-up button. The lights of the icons will keeping on when the B683 is working, so they could show us below the information clearly, even in a dark room:
* Using the USB port
* Wi-Fi/WPS active network
* Internet connection through mobile
* Power
* LAN status

Package Contents
In the box, we can find the router power adapter and user manual for instructions. Manufacturer unfortunately not provided us information about the gadgets that can connect to the device. And users have to look for an external antenna themselves and buy on their own.

Interface and Support

The device is taken out of the box practically ready for use. To use the mobile Internet, we only need to put a SIM card into and snap, and plug the snap into B683 Router. After power is on, a 3G LAN / Wi-Fi router starts working. Usually, you don’t even need to set up a profile , but if you are unlucky to do this, it’s simple and easy, the configuration wizard helps you through the whole process step by step, you just follow up the wizard and click finish. All finished and it will auto connect to internet.

If we want to use more advanced functions of the router, you have to delve into the administration panel. Do not fail the people who want to have access to a large number of network settings.
Huawei B683 3G Router could set up below configuration:
* MAC address filtering
* IP address filtering
* Setup DMZ
* Mobile network settings (including manual network selection)
* DHCP
* UPnP

Regarding the stability and speed of data transmission - during the test, they are not a big deal. Only when the Wi-Fi connected the three devices simultaneously, this is not enough for the maximum device quantity that HUAWEI B683 could connect. It could support total 32 users to share the network. Mobile internet worked without delay, the HUAWEI B683 Wireless Router could found and correct 3G network in a few seconds. The infrastructure of the operator at the test, unfortunately, did not allow for "squeezing all the juice" from the router. The test speed that I was able to achieve a 2.05Mbit/s (download) and 0.04Mb/s (upload), even the peak speed declared by the manufacturer could reach 28MB/s (download) and 5.76Mb/s (upload). I suppose it’s due to the network environment.

Huawei also has equipped its product in several additional and very useful features. One of them is the ability to send and receive SMS messages from the admin (of course, if our operator gave this functionality).

Summary

Huawei B683 3G WiFi Router is the ideal solution for those who want to create a small network. The device is so functional that allows you to use both mobile internet and desktop - through the telephone line.   Unfortunately, the device also has disadvantages. Manufacturer begrudged accessories for the router – in the standard package, there is only power adapter, user guide, then users couldn’t anything more.   Anyhow, we still give good praise on the router performance, because the case is well fit and makes a solid impression. It is a pity that the manufacturer has applied the glossy, new material. On the other hand, this type of equipment will not touch rather too often, so the prints should not be a problem.   The most important is that when we test it, it keeps working at stable status, which is key point users concern.   Actually, HUAWEI also has other 3G Wireless Routers, such as HUAWEI B970b HSDPA 3G WiFi Router, we will introduce next time.

HUAWEI E5 Family (3G 4G Pocket WiFi E5830, E5830S, E5832, E585, E583C, E560, E586, E5331, E5332, E5151, E587, E5756, E589, E5776)

It would be lucky if you or your friend around have HUAWEI E5 Pocket WiFi Hotspot, you can easily share the wireless network via this device. As the world leading Pocket WiFi Hotspot, more and more people get to know the star from HUAWEI Portable 3G Router. When traveling, business trip, outdoor acctivities, you may feel enjoyable and convenient if you have a pocket WiFi HUAWEI E5.

 So what is HUAWEI E5 Pocket WiFi? For Pocket WiFi, it's easy to understand, but for HUAWEI E5, it could be a long but fantastic story.   HUAWEI E5, the original factory model should be E583X, was firstly released at  at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February 2009. Japan was the first country to introduce this mobile WiFi Hotspot(named HUAWEI E5830) to demestic and launched to commerce. As the developed market for electronics, Japanese like this portable 3G router very much, which made HUAWEI E5830 (The frist generation of HUAWEI E5 Pocket WiFi). Per the report from HUAWEI, the sales record of HUAWEI E5 pocket WiFi reached 300,000 units at the end of 2009. Now more than 40 networks operators are ordering HUAWEI E5 and introduce them to their domestic electronic users. Of course, they are not introducing the first generation of HUAWEI E5, HUAWEI have already launched 4th generation Pocket WiFi E5. Let us see what's the stars of 4 generations.

  First Generation-- HUAWEI E583X(E5830, E5830S, E585, E583C, E560) 7.2Mbps Mobile WiFi Hotspot

 As we introduced before, HUAWEI E583X opened the market for 3G Pocket WiFi based on its portability and easy use. The E5830s mobile Wi-Fi device connects to devices using its wireless interface, providing Internet access through any Wi-Fi device, mobile phone, game console, digital camera, notebook and PDA. Key features include: intelligent power control, temperature protection, web messages, web SD card information sharing, small screen page setting and screen display of statuses.     Huawei announced the launch of its next-generation mobile Wi-Fi device, the E583C in July 2010. Huawei developed the E585 based on feedback from consumers and UK wireless carrier Three, including a start-up button and OLED display detailing information such as signal strength, 3G or HSDPA connectivity, number of devices connected to the hub, battery level, and the network being used. This improvement makes HUAWEI E585 and E583C easier to operate and connection status more visible. They are equipped with a personal mobile WiFi hotspot to support maximum of 5 compatible devices. Sometimes, with USB cable, users can get one more device to access internet. These devices include notebooks, iPads, or handheld gaming consoles etc..

 Huawei E583C Mobile 3G Router seems more popular because it adopts a new design with a 1-inch color OLED display that shows information such as network operator details, signal strength, Wi-Fi connection status, and battery level. And with the external antenna, users in rural area or low signal area could have external option to enhance their connection speed. The E583c converts 3.5G HSPA mobile signal into Wi-Fi coverage, automatically creating Internet access and individual Wi-Fi hotspots for up to five Wi-Fi-enabled digital devices. It can also provide simultaneous Internet access to a sixth device when it is connected to a laptop computer via a USB cable. HUAWEI E583c Pocket WiFi Router should be a revolution model fro HUAWEI because from this model, HUAWEI began to sell HUAWEI E5 with their own brand, but they maintain the channel with the operators. It's a time of strategy change, HUAWEI want to build their own brand, not just the producer for operator carriers.

 HUAWEI E560 Portable 3G Hotspot comes out recently, but seems it's not a popular model because its price in high range and no more new style on this device, just copy the function of HUAWEI E585, and change appearance to HUAWEI E586, then E560 was born.   The key features of HUAWEI E5 first generation is that they support HSDPA 7.2Mbps and 5 WiFi enabled devices could share wireless network (one more via USB cable).

Second Generation-- HUAWEI E586 E5331 E5332 E5151 3G HSPA+ 21Mbps Mobile WiFi Hotspot

 With the network upgrade, there must be new devices to support the higher network. Then HUAWEI E5 second generation comes out. HUAWEI E586 Mobile WiFi Router was ther first model for 2nd generation. On 17 August 2011, UK Three announced its new high-speed mobile Wi-Fi device: the Huawei-built E586 MiFi, the first mobile Wi-Fi device in the UK to feature next generation HSPA+ mobile broadband technology.. But due to price, HUAWEI E586 3G WiFi Router seems not as popular as first generation models. If you use the device with contract, E586 is considerable. And there is branch model E586ES with external antenna ports.

New WiFi hotspots follow to meet customers’ preference. HUAWEI E5331 Mobile WiFi comes out with very good price and slim appearance, it soon become the best seller in Middle East and Europe. It supports HSPA+ data service up to 21.6Mbps and HSPA+ upload up to 5.76Mbps. With connection time in only 5 second, it becomes more attractive to the users who want easy setup and fast connection with high speed link. Few people know E5331 mobile HSPA+ router has a sister model HUAWEI E5332 with external antenna port. The main difference between them is the antenna. Other features are almost the same. Configured bands of E5331 and E5332 seem more appropriate for users in Europe and Africa.

 There is one special E5 pocket WiFi HUAWEI E5151. HUAWEI E5151 pocket WiFi is different from other 2nd generation HUAWEI E5 models because besides the features of 3G UMTS bands and HSPA+ speed, E5151 has an Ethernet port to connect Ethernet cable, which can transfer the WLAN to WiFi signal. So to some extent, HUAWEI E5151 Pocket WiFi is a mobile WiFi and WLAN router.

In conclude, HUAWEI E5 2nd generation could support HSPA+ 21mbps and 5.76mbps, with support of 5 wifi users, with or without external antenna port.

  Third Generation-- HUAWEI E587 E5756 3G DC-HSPA+ Mobile WiFi Hotspot

 Consumers always want the network moving faster, and the wireless terminals. And there HUAWEI E587 42Mbps Mobile WiFi comes into eyes. With external antenna port and larger battery capacity, HUAWEI E587 HSPA+ Pocket WiFi help the users who need high speed transmission or game player to experience much better. The workmanship of HUAWEI E587 Mobile WiFi is much more exquisite than previous model. Looking back to the old models, the path somewhat like iPhone, at the beginning, iPhone 1 or 2 are not that well know, from iPhone 3, it become hot among users. When iPhone 4 appears, it's the hottest mobile phones in the markets. Comparing with iPhone 3, iPhone 4 has much better workmanship and many improvements in performance. HUAWEI E587 Mobile Router somewhat like iPhone 4. When you hand it, the feel is much different from normal pocket wifi. Now, there is a new pocket WiFi Huawei E5756 42mbps WiFi hotspot available now.
